Traditional folk and roots music from the UK, France, Ireland and
Fairfolk's first gigs were around the Fairfields area of Basingstoke,
in pubs, the Irish Club, even the Irish Club car park as a festival
Their popularity grew rapidly and they progressed to the Basingstoke
Festival, first to the acoustic tent and subsequently to the main stage.
Two appearances at the October Fest have cemented their reputation.
Fairfolk played at the Anvil for the Mayor's charity event in 2013.
The band is constantly evolving and supports the tradition
of folk being an inclusive music form. For bigger events Fairfolk
invite other musicians to join the band. Fairfolk are regular players
at the Backporch Sessions in Rotherwick and Winchester Folk Club.
Fairfolk have been exploring medieval songs in old english and
latin, and recently performed in a 12th century church at Nately Scures
at the request of the Rev. Jane Leese to celebrate the appointment of a
